Johnny Floyd Boiter, 56, of Greenville, died Feb. 22, 2007. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Floyd and Lois Patterson Boiter. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Dale Boiter of the home; daughter, Natalie Melinda Wall of Mauldin; a son, Johnny Dewayne Boiter of Piedmont; a brother, Jerry Gillespie of Greenville; five sisters, Nancy Silvers of Atlanta, GA, and Delores Stoudenmire, Joyce Russell, Jean Nease and Martha Linderman, all of Greenville; and five grandchildren. Memorial services were held Feb. 24 at Everlasting Gospel Church in Greenville.
WILLIAMSTON - Wesley Vincent Vince King, 24, of 29 Middleton Blvd., died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Greenville, he was a son of Brenda Clark King and the late James Randall King. He was employed with Meritus Electrical. Surviving are his mother of the home; girlfriend, Mandy Neely of Williamston; maternal grandmother, Frances Clark of Honea Path; brother, Nathan King and his girlfriend, Cindy Gardner of Williamston; two nieces, Abigail and Hayley; and a nephew, Eric. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gray Mortuary Chapel, Pelzer by Rev. Charles Bell and Anthony OShields. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of his brother, Nathan King, 112 Center St., Williamston and received friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
John Herbert Smith, Sr., 74, husband of Shirley Thomason Smith, of Williamston, died Feb. 23, 2007 at his home. Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Hyson Lee and Lucille Holliday Smith. He retired from Duke Power Oconee Nuclear Station and attended Trinity Baptist Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Diane Brock of Belton; son, John Herbert Smith, Jr. of Greer; sisters, Betty Bowen of Williamston, Barbara Harrison of Anderson, Nancy Capell of Hartwell, GA; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Feb. 26 in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Norma Lorraine Floyd, 85, of Alma, GA, died Feb. 20, 2007. She was born in Anderson County, daughter of the late Walter Guy Jordan and Rosalie Bell Jordan. She was a member of the Alma United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, John Pinckney J.P. Floyd, Jr. of Alma; two daughters, Beverly F. Kellett of Dalton, GA and Michal Anne Lockaby of Alma; four brothers, Joe Jordan of Anderson, Jimmy Jordan of Belton, Hal Jordan of Williamston and Lindsey Jordan of New Orleans, LA; three sisters, Frances Conwell and Mary Anna Campbell, both of Williamston, and Ruth Heatherly of Pelzer; four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Feb. 23 at the Alma United Methodist Church in Alma, GA. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mary Elizabeth Golden McAlister, 91, of Williamston, wife of William Clyde McAlister, died Feb. 21, 2007. Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late John and Bessie Mae Shannon Golden. She retired from Mt. Vernon Mills and was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are daughter, Mary Ann Cox of Greer; son, Tony S. McAlister of Williamston; brothers, Bill Golden, Jack Golden, both of Williamston; Joe Golden of Belton; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Feb. 24 at Big Creek Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 285, Anderson, SC 29622.
John Alan Bebech, 58, husband of Grace Hagerty Bebech, died Feb. 19, 2007. He was born in Sharon, PA to the late William Alan Bebech and Anna Marie Listopad Bebech. He retired as a precision metal worker. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are; a daughter, Ann Miller; two brothers, Tim and Bill Bebech; and one grandson. Funeral services were held Feb. 24 at Life Spring Community Church. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Ralph Edward Madden, 69, of Taylors, died Feb. 20, 2007 at his home. Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Roy and Ellaree Kirkland Madden. He was a registered nurse with Greenville Memorial Hospital and a member of Taylors First Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Fannie Nell Alewine Madden of the home; a daughter, Melissa Madden of the home; three brothers, Earl Madden of Ware Shoals, Joe Madden of Gray Court and Steve Madden of Greenville; and four sisters, Lois Young of Easley, Alice Smith of Piedmont, Brenda Yearwood and Margie Williams, both of Greenville. Funeral services were held Feb. 22 at Taylors First Baptist Church Chapel. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Taylors First Baptist Church Missions Fund, 200 W. Tracy Michelle Brown Knight, 38, formerly of Piedmont, died Feb. 16, 2007 in Urbana, IL. Born in Greenville County, the daughter of Jerry H. and Phyllis Duncan Brown Sr., he was formerly employed with the Mauldin Police Department and was a member of Carpenters House Church. Surviving in addition to his parents are a daughter, Reghan Noel Cox of Piedmont; and two brothers, Jerry H. Brown Jr. and Christopher J. Brown, both of Williamston; and grandfather, Gordon J. Brown Sr. of Greenville. Funeral services were held Feb. 22 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home in Easley. Burial followed in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
Aulida Long Snipes, 87, formerly of Williamston, died Feb. 23, 2007. Born in Stanley County, NC, she was a daughter of the late John Edward and Alice Baucom Long. She was a member of Pelzer Church of God. Surviving are sisters, Connie Robinson and Gwen Morgan; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Cryptside services were held Feb. 25 at Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.
Mary Marcelle Rogers, 73, loving companion of Charles Mergenthaler, of Piedmont, died Feb. 21, 2007 at her home. Born in Liberty, she was the daughter of the late J.C. Buddy and Ruth Harris Rogers. She attended Tabernacle of Faith Church in Piedmont. Surviving are four daughters, Sandra Todd, Brenda Raines, Marcia Franklin and Verna Harrison; two sons, Kenneth Doyle White and Jack Lee White; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Cox of Piedmont and Martha Nell McClendon of Mobile, AL; and a brother, Lindsey Rogers of Greenville. Funeral services were held Feb. 23 in Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial followed in Liberty Memorial Gardens.
