Lizzie Mae Crocker Ray, 78, of Williamston, wife of the late Cecil J. Ray Sr. died May 12, 2007 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson. Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Noley J. Bill Crocker and Jessie Smith Crocker. She was a homemaker and of the Protestant Faith. She is survived by her sons, Cecil J. Ray Jr. and Franklin Dwain Ray, both of Williamston; daughter, Neda Ray Kantrowitz of West Pelzer; sister, Margie Crocker Bannister of Iva; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held May 14 in The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Sharion Ann McAlister Hendrix, 63, of Easley, wife of Lee Bradford Hendrix Sr. died May 12, 2007 at her home. She was a daughter of the late Roseman Correll and Margaret Lurlene Sanders McAlister. She was a homemaker and a member of New Life Baptist Church of Pickens. Surviving in addition to her husband are; son, Lee Buddy Hendrix, Jr. of Pickens; daughters, Tami Fulmer and Melanie Richey, both of Piedmont; brother, Charles McAlister of Easley; sister, Diane Aiken of Liberty; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held May 15 at Robinson Funeral Home, Powdersville Road. Burial followed in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
Robert A. Henderson, 91, of Pelzer, died May 10, 2007. Funeral services were held May 15 at Sweet Canaan Baptist Church in Piedmont. Burial followed in the church cemetery.DANIEL B. MILLER Daniel B. Dan Miller, 72, of Greenville, died at his home on May 12, 2007. He was a son of the late William P. and Lois Phillips Miller and widower of Nina Holcombe Miller. He attended Westville Church of God of Prophecy. Surviving are five daughters, Nancy Cox of Belton, Ann Sutherland of Belton, Jo Ann Landreth of Pelzer, Lee Cain of North Augusta and Wendy Dickerson of Easley; sister, Mickey Raines of Easley; two brothers, Wallace Miller of Lake Havasu, AZ and Bruce Miller of Greenville; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held May 15 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home Northwest Chapel. Interment followed in Graceland Cemetery West. Memorials may be made to Westville Church of God of Prophecy, 132 Pineview Drive, Easley, SC 29642.
Deloria West Penland, 61, of Piedmont, died May 13, 2007. Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of Edna Riddle West of Greenville and the late Calvin E. West, and widow of Roger Dean Penland. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Surviving in addition to her mother are; two daughters, Gwen Jones and Beverly Templeton, both of Pelzer; two sons, Robert Dale Penland of Greenville and Russell Dean Penland of Piedmont; a sister, Jean Knighton of Spartanburg; and a brother, Calvin E. West, Jr. of Ware Shoals; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Funeral services were held May 16 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel. Graveside services will be held May 17 at 2 p.m. at the Penland Family Cemetery in Weaverville, NC.
Sandra Marlene Evans Burnett, 69, of Greenville, died May 14, 2007. Born in Butler, PA, she was the daughter of the late Helen Jones and Donald Marsh Evans, and the widow of Chester Tolley. She was a retired manager of Handy Mart. Surviving are two daughters, Pennie LaVan of Prospect, PA and Michelle Perry of Greenville; two sons, Dennis Beeman of Greenville and Robert Beeman of Williamston; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation was held May 19 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.
Linda Gail Kelly Williams, 62, of Piedmont, died May 13, 2007 at her home. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late James Henderson and Margaret Louise Sanders Kelly. She retired from Eckerd Drugs and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Williams of the home; step-mother, Kathy Kelly of Greenville; brother, Cliff Kelly of Spokane, WA; sisters, Louise Cothran of Pelzer, Gloria Golightly of Berea; one granddaughter Nikki Brooks of the home; son-in-law, Keith and Tammy Brooks of Pelzer. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. May 17 at Rehoboth Baptist Church. The family is at the home and will receive friends 3-5 p.m. May 17 at the church. Marilyn Arlene Coble Ham, 69 of Fountain Inn died May 7, 2007. She was born in Kansas City, MO to the late Robert Guy Coble and Jessie Frances Miller Coble. She retired as an interior decorator with Sherwin-Williams Paint Company. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Theresa Strickland of Pelzer and Lora Klock of Denver, CO; a brother, Dale Coble; sister, Maxine Merrick; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held May 12 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Belton Cemetery in Belton, MO.
Lottie Mae Collins Kidd, 80, widow of Leonard Red Kidd, died May 9, 2007. Surviving are ten children; daughters, Betty Fowler of the home, Patsy Burns of Honea Path, Connie Brown of Greer, Jewel Craig of Easley and Nancy Forrest of Fountain Inn; sons, James Collins of Travelers Rest, Jerry Collins of Greer, Sonny Collins of Greer, Kenneth Green of Travelers Rest and David Collins of the home; 31 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Rufus Collins of Lyman; and two sisters, Minnie McSwain of Greer and Fannie Turner of Campobello. Graveside services were held May 11 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Joshua Eugene Young Fat Boi, 21, of Honea Path, died May 5, 2007. Born in Tampa, FL, he was the son of Loretta Young of the home and Roger and Theresa Young of Simpsonville. Surviving are one brother, Roger Young, Jr. of Piedmont; a great-grandmother, Beaulah Frasure; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Max McCurry of FL and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Evett of Greenville; and a step-sister, Tessa. Funeral services were held May 10 in Westville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Tommy Yoas Neal Sr., 57, of Greenville, died May 8, 2007. Born in Greenville, he was a son of Nathaniel R. Neal of Greenville and the late Doris McKinney Neal. He was a former insurance adjuster and a member of Oakcrest Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his father, are a daughter, Charissa Few of Piedmont; son, Tommy Ty Neal Jr. of Simpsonville; a brother, Jefferson Jeff Neal of Greenville; and four grandchildren. Patricia Sue Walser Rose, 56, of Piedmont, died May 6, 2007. Born in Lexington, NC, she was a daughter of Rebecca Leonard Walser of Piedmont and the late John F. Walser. She retired from Wren Elementary School and was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband, Carl Rose, of the home; two daughters, Rebekah Harvey of Charleston and Heather Rose of Clemson; sister, Lynne Garms of Winston-Salem, NC. Funeral services were held May 12 at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Burial followed at Graceland East Memorial Park. James Harold Rutledge, Sr., 62, of Piedmont, died May 6, 2007 in Williamston. Born in Anderson County, he was formerly employed at Milliken Co. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Williamston. He is survived by his father, Sam Rutledge of Williamston; sons, David Smith of Pelzer and Marvin Smith of Greenville; sisters, Hazel Patterson of Brooklyn, NY and Diane Rutlege of Mauldin; brother, Sam Rutledge, Jr. of Mauldin; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Smith Rutledge and mother, Alfreda Ellis Rutledge. Funeral service was held May 13 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Williamston. Interment followed in the church cemetery. |
