Alma Nalley Booth, 85, formerly of Piedmont, widow of Woodrow Booth, died June 6, 2007 at Woodruff Manor. Born in Greenville County, she was daughter of the late William Edgar and Rebecca Sudduth Nalley. She was a member of Wrenn Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving are daughter, Vicki White of Piedmont; son, Gerald Abbott of Greer; and six grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Graveside services were held June 7 at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
January 26, 1931-June 6, 2007 WILLIAMSTON - Walter Hubert Lollis, Jr., 76, husband of Ruby Irene Reno Lollis, of Morningside Assisted Living, formerly Williamston, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Hospice House. Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Walter Hubert, Sr. and Myrtle Lee Creamer Lollis. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, formerly employed by Milliken at the Cushman Plant, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Walter H. (Bubba) and Sharon Lollis, William (Tommy) and Sue Lollis, all of Williamston; sisters, Leona Crawford, Trudy Gosnell, both of Greenville; Mary Belle Davis of Augusta, GA, Linnie Craft of Anderson; brothers, Furman Lollis of Greenville, Bobby Lollis of Williamston, Richard Lollis of Anderson; grandchildren, Heather Kyzer and her husband Trent of Mauldin, Cory Lollis and his wife Jennifer of Williamston, Ashley Luquire and her husband Jonathan of Anderson; great-grandchildren, Jameson Elizabeth and Tristan Shaun Lollis, both of Williamston, and Garrett Austin Luquire of Anderson. He was predeceased by sisters, Florine Phillips, Azalee Foster, Evelyn Macomson; and brothers, Harold and Calvin Lollis. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the Rev. Bill Ellison and Mr. Dale Harper officiating. Entombment followed with military honors in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family is at the home of a son, Bubba Lollis, 9 Woods Drive, Williamston and received friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Florence Marie Rogers Finley, 76, wife of Roy Junior Finley, died June 6, 2007 at her home. Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Gladys Mae Stringer Rogers. She retired from Braxton, Ltd. in Williamston, was a homemaker, and a member of Whitefield Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Roy Gary Finley, Mike Finley, Dale Finley, Keith Finley; sisters, Thelma McCall, Sara Rogers; brother, Marvin Rogers, all of Williamston; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held June 9 at Whitefield Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Deanna Louise Hill, 66 of Piedmont, died June 5, 2007 at her home. Born in Kirby, TX, she was a daughter of Jesse Lynn Hill and the late Leona Rosalyn Adam Hill. She did accounting for the U.S. Military. In addition to her father, she is survived by a sister, Gloria Jean Davis of Victoria, TX; brothers, Robert Hill of Seguin, TX, Harold Hill of Utah and James Hill of Tulsa. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society S.C. Chapter, 1247 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, SC 29603. Further services will be held in Texas at a later date.
John Johnny Harvey Finley, 57, of Greenville, died June 10, 2007. Born in Greenville County, he was a former employee of J.P. Stevens, Monaghan Plant. Surviving are his mother, Carolyn Greer Finley; three sisters, Joyce Tollison of Williamston and Judy Roper and Mary Finley, both of Greenville; three brothers, James and Robert Finley, both of Greenville and Billy Finley of Clinton. He was predeceased by his father, Woodrow Finley. Graveside services were held June 13 at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
James Leonard Neal, 49, of Cross Hill, died June 10, 2007. He was born in Hartwell, GA, the son of Lucille Hollingsworth Neal and the late John R. Neal. He was a self-employed contractor ad was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He is survived by his mother, of Easley; his wife, Rita Faye Neal of the home; one step-daughter, Ashley Nelson of Cross Hill; three sisters, Martha Neal Lyons of Clinton, Sara Gilliand of Easley and Linda Campbell of Pelzer; and one step-granddaughter. Funeral services were held June 13 in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church cemetery. |
