Deborah Debbie Dianne Garrison Jackson, 50, of Williamston, died Oct. 3, 2007 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of Margie Christine Holcombe Garrison of Williamston and the late Billy Walker Garrison, Jr. She was employed by Fabri-Kal in Piedmont and a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by daughter, Christi Leann Jackson of Belton; sisters, Glenda Perry of Piedmont, Tammy Evans of Belton; and brother, Michael Garrison of Easley. Funeral services were held Oct. 6 in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens. PELZER - Ida Mae Guthrie Davenport, 96, formerly of Whitten Road, widow of Roy Thomas Davenport, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at NHC of Anderson. Born in Piedmont, she was a daughter of the late James Benjamin and Mimmie Pack Guthrie. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith. She is survived by her son-in-law, William K. Bill Vaughan of Pelzer; sister, Minnie Lee Owens of Williamston; grandchildren, Mark Vaughan, Holly Wilson, Greg Davenport, Tracy Mixon, Gary Fricks; and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Bonnie Mae D. Vaughan; and son, James T. Davenport. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday at Bethel Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith with Pastor Jeff Fletcher officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of Bill Vaughan, 201 Looper Road, Pelzer, and received friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Wilfred Joseph Brunelle, 86, husband of Janice Mary Shover Brunelle, of Williamston, died Oct. 3, 2007 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Berlin, NH, he was the son of the late Louise Brunelle and Lena Couillard Dube. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, owner and operator of Brunelle Flooring Maintenance and a member of the Ware Place Family Worship Center. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Gary W. Brunelle; daughter, Sylvia Burton, both of CT; sister, Marie LaBrecque of ME; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held Oct. 9 at the Ware Place Family Worship Center.
Alpha Norie Butts, 88, widow of Archie Woodrow Butts Sr., of Westminster, died Oct. 4, 2007 at her home. She was born in Westminster, a daughter of the late Reverend Tom Patton Butts and the late Bessie Burton Butts. She was a homemaker and retired from J.P. Stevens Company. She was a charter member of Calvary Church of God. Surviving are a son, Archie Woodrow Joe Butts of Westminster; two daughters, Jean Bryant of Westminster and Sarah Knight of North Myrtle Beach, SC; sisters, Ines Hollingsworth of Piedmont, Vera Purdy of Townville, Louise Lewis, Eleanor Watson and Ruth Brackett, all of Seneca and Ann Smith and Shirley Taylor, both of Westminster; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Oct. 6 at Calvary Church of God. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Building fund of Calvary Church of God, 10102 Long Creek Hwy., Westminster, SC 29693.
Frances Sullivan Burns, 79, of Fair Play, died Oct. 6, 2007. Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late James Alton Sullivan and Opal Stone Sullivan. She retired from West Point Stevens Plant and was a member of Bountyland Church of God. She is survived by two sons, Jerry Burns of Seneca and Jimmy Burns, of Fair Play; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Whitten of Fair Play; brothers, Joe Sullivan of Fair Play and James Sullivan of Williamston; and two special family members, Evelyn Sullivan and Kathy Burns. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband, Garrison Burns. Funeral services were held Oct. 9 at Bountyland Church of God. Interment followed in Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to OMH - Hospice of The Foothills, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, South Carolina 29672.
Marvin Reece Mathis, husband of Pat Boggs Mathis, died Oct. 3, 2007. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Marion T. Mathis Sr. and Mary Lou Mathis. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked in the insurance industry for 25 years and retired from Quality Photo Center, which he owned and operated for 14 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Spartanburg. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Marvin Scott Mathis of Powdersville and Mitchell L. Mathis of Spartanburg; five grandchildren; a brother, Marion T. Ty Mathis Jr. of Piedmont; two sisters, Ella Mae Thompson of Vero Beach, FL and Enid Owen of Newnan, GA. Funeral services were held Oct. 6 at First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. Graveside services followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville. Mildred Francis Kay Lovelist, formerly of Williamston, died Oct. 4, 2007. She was the widow of the late Robert Lee Lovelist and a member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Williamston. She is survived by a grandson and two great-grandsons. Funeral services were held Oct. 10 at new Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Williamston. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Michael Jordan Manley, 46, of Williamston, died Oct. 6, 2007 at Rainey House Hospice in Anderson. He was born to Rebecca Major Manley of Williamston and the late Thomas Leroy Jordan. He was a member of Pelzer United Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, James Cecil Manley. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Cathy Elrod Manley of Anderson; daughter, Amanda Manley; son, B.J. Brandon J. Manley, both of Williamston; half-sister, Stephanie Camputaro; half-brother, Chris Manley, both of Hilton Head Island; and half-brother, Tommy Jordan of Statesville, NC. Memorial service was held Oct. 9 at Pelzer United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Pelzer United Methodist Church, 8 Hale St., Pelzer, SC 29669.
James Paul Fisher, 77, of Easley, husband of Betty ODell Fisher, died Oct. 8, 2007 at his home. Born in Easley, a son of the late William Romie and Mamie Welchel Fisher, he was a retired supervisor with Alice Manufacturing and a member of Park Street Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are son, Mike Fisher of Asheboro, NC; four daughters, Kathy Holcombe and Loretta Cox, both of Easley; Tammy Reed of Greenville and Cynthia Roach of Pickens; one brother, Charles Fisher of Piedmont; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Oct. 10 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
