VIVIAN McCUEN

Vivian Cozette Stallings McCuen, 91, of Easley, formerly of Pelzer, widow of Carl McCuen, died Dec. 14, 2007.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late John and Clara Belle Thompson Stallings. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastview Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughter, Erbie Jo M. Bonds of Simpsonville; sons, John Roland McCuen of Pelzer, Henry Alton McCuen of Easley; sister, Katherine Bratcher of Belton; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 14 at Eastview Baptist Church. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

GRACE ROPER GARRETT RAMEY

Grace Roper Garrett Ramey, 95, died Dec. 7, 2007 at the Hospice House in Anderson.

She was born in Cleveland, GA to the late A.J. Roper and Millie Shuler Roper.

She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Garrett Wilson of Chester; a son, James A. Garrett of Southern Pines, NC; sister, Etta Roper Cason of Piedmont; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Leonard J. Garrett, Sr. and Fate Ramey.

Graveside service was held Dec. 15 at Oconee Memorial Park in Seneca.

ILA LOWIE TURNER

Ila Lowie Turner, 81, of Anderson, died Dec. 15, 2007 at NHC of Anderson.

Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Blanch Lyon and was the wife of Julius Turner.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Janice Cline; one sister Iris Rentz of Williamston; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 17 at Woodlawn-Sosebee Funeral Home.

Burial was held Dec. 18 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.


MEGAN THRASHER

Megan Nicole “Tweeters” Thrasher, 20, of Williamston, died December 13, 2007 at AnMed Health Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of Noah Harold and Wanda Patton Thrasher.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by grandmother, Sue Patton of Williamston; and great-grandmother, Lois Strickland of Belton.

Funeral services were held Sunday in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

ANNES M. ARFLIN

Annes M. Arflin, 87, of Fountain Inn, died Dec. 10, 2007 at her home.

Born in Buncombe County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Fate and Junnie Searcy.

She is survived by one sister, Thelma Jenkins of Buncombe County, NC; children, Francis L. Freeman of Greenville, Robert D. Freeman of Fountain Inn, Larry F. Freeman of Williamston, and Joyce A. Kendrick of the home; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Plenney Lawson Freeman.

Funeral services were held Dec. 15 in the chapel of the Mackey Mortuary. Graveside services were held at Bearwallow Baptist Church in Gerton, NC.


‘COWBOY’ TUCKER

Robert Wade “Cowboy” Tucker, 68, husband of Betty Evelyn Beard Tucker of Williamston, died Dec. 11, 2007 at his home.

Born in Walhalla, he was a son of the late Robert Oscar Tucker and Viola Savage Tucker. He retired from Thrift Brothers and Vulcan Materials and was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean conflict.

Surviving are his wife of the home; sons, Robert Danny Tucker, Billy Wade Tucker, Bobby Joe Tucker and Michael Wayne Tucker; daughters, Betty D. McElreath, Patsy Perry and Crystal Gail Tucker; brother, Homer R. Tucker; sister, Flonie Delphia; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Dec. 14 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
